Adults Strength & Conditioning

Our Strength & Conditioning classes are designed to build the physical foundation needed for martial arts performance and overall health. Sessions rotate through lower body, upper body and full-body training, blending strength work with muscular endurance and conditioning. Expect a mix of barbell and kettlebell lifts, bodyweight training, sleds, carries and plyometrics to build power, stability and resilience.

Mondays and Fridays place a stronger emphasis on cardiovascular endurance under load, helping you develop the ability to push through fatigue — a critical attribute for BJJ, Muay Thai and MMA. Whether you're looking to improve performance on the mats or simply get stronger and fitter, these sessions will help you develop a well-rounded, capable body that performs under pressure.

Senior Boxing

Senior Boxing

Our Senior Boxing program focuses on developing a strong technical foundation in the fundamentals of boxing. Students learn correct stance, footwork, defense, timing and shot selection so they can build a style that suits their body, personality and training goals. Our boxing coach blends traditional boxing principles with modern training methods, helping athletes evolve from their first jab all the way to advanced, world-class striking capabilities.

Whether you're new to combat sports or refining your competitive skill set, these sessions are designed to build confidence, composure and ring IQ. Training includes padwork, partner drills, controlled sparring (optional and level-appropriate), and technical development tailored to each athlete's needs. The goal is simple: create intelligent, well-rounded boxers who can adapt, think and perform under pressure.

Muay Thai

Muay Thai

Our Muay Thai program is built on a Dutch-kickboxing influenced striking base combined with high-level traditional Thai techniques and a strong emphasis on clinch work. Students develop powerful and efficient striking using punches, kicks, knees and elbows, along with balance, timing and defensive responsibility.

Sessions include padwork, technical drilling, footwork, clinch entries and exits, and for those who are ready, controlled sparring. The goal is to develop smart, disciplined strikers who can maintain composure and decision-making even when fatigued. Whether your focus is fitness, self-defence or preparing for competition, our coaching team will help you grow at your own pace while maintaining WMA's high technical standards and strong team culture.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (Adults)

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (Adults)

Our Adults Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program includes a mix of Gi and No-Gi classes throughout the week, allowing students to develop a complete and adaptable grappling game. We focus on takedowns and grip fighting as much as positional fundamentals, ensuring students learn how to enter, control and advance through the major ground positions.

Classes are structured using a 2–3 week positional training cycle, concentrating on both top and bottom offense and defense from a single position before moving to the next. This system allows students to develop a deeper understanding of key movements without forgetting what was previously learned, and makes it easier to apply techniques consistently in sparring and competition. With a blend of coaching styles and competition experience in the room, we teach a position-before-submission approach while still preparing athletes to finish when the moment is right. Additional competition-specific training blocks are offered leading up to tournaments for students who wish to test themselves on the competition mats.

Safety Gear, Hygiene & Etiquette Policy

For hygiene and safety, all students must have their own training gear. Due to the tropical climate and the nature of combat sports, gear sharing is not allowed.

Personal Gear Requirements

Striking Classes

Mandatory:

  • Mouthguard & Boxing Gloves

Depending on class:

  • • Shin guards
  • • Hand wraps (recommended)
  • • Optional headgear for sparring

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu / Grappling

Mandatory:

  • Rash guard (no loose shirts)
  • Grappling shorts/pants WITHOUT pockets
  • BJJ Gi for Gi classes

Optional:

  • • Ear guards
  • • Knee pads

Hygiene Expectations

  • Clean training clothes every class
  • Change of clothes if training multiple sessions
  • Quick rinse shower recommended between classes
  • No shoes on the mats
  • Gear washed and dried regularly

Illness & Skin Policy

Do NOT train if you have:

  • Ringworm, staph, impetigo or other skin infections
  • Flu, fever, cough or contagious illness
  • Open wounds that cannot be safely covered

Member Responsibility

  • Waiver must be signed before training
  • Follow coach and staff instructions
  • Train with control and respect
  • Communicate clearly during sparring

These standards ensure a safe, positive environment where everyone can improve and enjoy martial arts.
